Installation at International Medical Center in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

GBC is excited to be working with our Middle East distributor on the International Medical Center project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The International Medical Center is one of the largest hospitals in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Over the years, they have been awarded many honors for cutting-edge technology and performance including a Makkah Award of Excellence, 2011 Dubai’s Best Hospital Design Award, and Hospital Build & Infrastructure’s 2012 Best Healing Environment Award.

GBC is happy to provide over 3,000 photo-luminescent emergency egress path-marking signs and systems to the IMC in efforts to aide in safe building evacuation in power outages or emergency situations. Providing safety is out #1 priority!

GBC Creates ADA Compliant Signage

GBC Safety Glow is excited to announce their release of ADA Compliant Signage. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires mandatory accessibility signage to be present in all public buildings including office spaces, hospitals, apartments, stores, malls, and more. This signage must be conveniently located and easily identifiable. It must be easy to read both visually and through tactile touch. It is a requirement that signage has raised tactile lettering with Grade 2 Braille readability.

GBC will work with you to create ADA compliant signage for any building to make sure you get the look you want. ADA signage doesn’t have to look generic – GBC offers decorative options to match your building’s design and environment. Installation Complete at Village Center Station ll

GBC Safety Glow recently completed an installation of their photo-luminescent emergency egress systems in the Village Center Station ll located in Greenwood Village, CO. This included safety stair treads, handrail markers, perimeter demarcation lines, stair I.D. signs, and other system elements required by IFC/IBC building code.

September 11, 2001- The Day Time Stood Still

September 11, 2001 changed the world forever and GBC Safety Glow would like to take a moment to remember those that lost their lives trying to evacuate the towers. This tragedy pains GBC as our business runs on providing safe and successful building evacuation methods. Per the IBC & IFC building & fire codes, any high rise building over 75ft is required to implement a low location photo-luminescent emergency egress system (except for apartment buildings). Since 9/11, GBC Safety Glow is working even harder in educating building owners about the benefit of GBC Safety Glow Photo-Luminescent Emergency Egress Systems. We are installing our system into every high rise building that we can. Safety is our top priority and we want to see every building offer our emergency evacuation system. Our systems glow in the dark and allow for an illuminated path to nearby exits and obstacles. Our products save lives in fires, power outages, and other disaster situations. Thousands of people die each year due to unsuccessful evacuation from buildings for one reason or another. Let’s work together to decrease that number and increase safety.

All of our products are made in the USA. Thank you to those who serve this great country and risked their lives to save others as we remember those that lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

GBC Partners with U.S. Airways

GBC Safety Glow recently produced Emergency Egress Components for U.S. Airways in Tempe, Arizona. Products included Photo-Luminescent Stair Treads and Hand Rail Markers for building stair wells. In an emergency evacuation, components will illuminate a clear, safe passage through the building to the nearest exit. Installed products comply with updated International Business Code (IBC) and International Fire Code (IFC) and are also UL Listed for emergency egress.

Product Spotlight: Glow Paint

GBC Safety Glow is the largest manufacturer of Photo-Luminescent Glow in the Dark Coatings in the U.S. Photo-Luminescent Coatings (Glow Paint) are not UL 1994 compliant and will not meet Emergency Egress System standards. That being said, glow coatings have come a long way over the last 5 years through technology, and the uses for glow coatings are virtually endless. Glow Paint can be used anywhere that does not specifically require code compliant glow products be used instead. If you are unsure if your building meets certain code requirements, contact us!
